SHADOW PORTRAITS BY KUMI YAMASHITA
For the past twelve years, New York-based Japanese artist Kumi Yamashita has been experimenting with and manipulating different types of paper and flat surfaces to cast side profile shadows of various people.
Most recently depicting the silhouette of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Yamashita claims to be able to represent the portrait of just about anyone (sick, right?). Aside from this, her works ranges from rubbing, warp and weft (textile) and even detailed fine art. It’s not every day we find a modern artist who’s work is constantly consistent with every piece just as good as the other. Love!
INTO IT: PANTONE UNIVERSE NEON IPHONE 4/4S CASES
Pantone Universe by Case Scenario has created four cute neon iPhone 4/4s cases offered in PANTONE 801 (Blue), PANTONE 806 (Pink), PANTONE 802 (Green) and PANTONE 804 (Orange) for this season. This is the second collection between Pantone Universe and Apple (the first including more colors plus iPad cases). These cases are an Apple store worldwide exclusive and will be available online in August.

Carl E. Smith is a Laguna Beac/Prague-based artist and graphic designer who has worked professionally in the action sports industry since 1995. Above is his ongoing “National Parks” series where he ever-so beautifully cuts and posts high fashion editorial and campaign images onto grand natural landscapes like rain forests and mountains and deserts.
Along with creating beautiful inspiration and creative atmosphere through his collages, Smith also continues to create his own original fine art works, realized primarily as collages conveying the beauty, excitement, ruin and rebirth of iconic elements from our everyday lives. Looks like the sporty-glam trend that was so prevalent this S/S 2012 season isn’t going anywhere! Asos have released the first look at their new, bang-on-trend, neo sport collection which is bring released for the Spring 2012 season.
With many designers jumping on the sporty-glam band wagon - the London 2012 games are right around the corner! The full collection is due to feature jump suits, tops and trousers and while we haven’t seen the full collection yet if this first image is anything like the rest of the collection - we’ll take one of everything, please!

Prayers everywhere have been answered! After bringing you a sneak peek a few weeks ago, the full Jason Wu for Target collection has finally be released! As we reported, the collaboration will hit stores and Target.com Feb. 5. Apparel ranges from $19.99 to $59.99, and the (really amazing) bags and scarves go from $19.99 to $49.99. Who’s going to be shopping?!
